RG370DX

RG370DX

Features

Basswood body, with a white or black finish, Maple neck, Wizard II, and Rosewood fingerboard with 24 Jumbo frets with sharktooth inlays. The scale length is 648mm (25.5"), while width at nut is 43mm. The neck radius is 400mm. The Wizard II neck is famous for being a very fast and comfortable neck.

Edge III

This bridge tolerates a large use of the bar, but preserves the tuning stability. In addition, thanks to the lower profile tuners, the Edge III provides a better palm comfort. The low profile has been inspired by the Lo-PRO Edge, an excellent bridge, once present on the RG550EX. Unfortunately this guitar has been discontinued.

Electronics

Neck

Infinity 3, an humbucker with ceramic magnet. It provides a dynamic and brilliant sound, suitable to chording and rhythm. It is open and much clear, with a good highs amount.

Middle

Infinity Single 3, a single-coil with Alnico magnet. It has been planned to work in conjunction with an humbucker and provides an high output. It is rather dark, with a large amount of low mids and much dense.

Bridge

Infinity 4, an humbucker with Alnico magnet. Obviously, this is the pickup for leads. It is rather warm and with many harmonics. Perfect for Metal or Hard Rock.

Conclusions

A good Ibanez, above all if we consider the cheap price, only 390 Euros. The body is in an excellent Basswood, the Wizard II neck is much fast and comfortable, the Edge III is really a good bridge. Pickups are honest, not excellent perhaps, but at a so price we cannot ask more. I believe that for a beginner this RG370DX can be an excellent instrument, but with the addition of a good distortion pedal or a good amp, it can be valid also for a more advanced guitarist.
