Distortion Pedals

The BC-2 reproduces the typical tone of a very famous British combo, the Vox AC30, with the addition of a knob that shapes the sound and it can generate a Vintage sound, an high-gain tone or a clear sound.

The BD-2 Blues Driver is very simple to use. Few controls produce a good distortion, creamy and warm. In the manual there are some interesting settings ready to use. The price is valid.

A modern and technologically advanced Overdrive. The DN-2 provides three controls for the adjusting of the sound: Level, Tone and Drive. The Dyna Amp technology, at the base of the DN-2, works well.

There are many different versions of the DS-1, and this last version is not the best. Sound is artificial and noisy. If you increase the distortion level, the sound will become immediatly irritating and much ugly.

The DS-2 is a very valid distortion pedal, better than the DS-1. It can be an excellent solution for Hard Rock leads, or also Blues, but this Boss pedal turns out much flexible. The two modes can be switched with an external footswitch.

A good Boss stompbox. The COSM technology emulates the fat and rich tone of the Fender '59 Bassman. This pedal delivers a valid sound, perfect for Blues, for instance. 2 inputs, NORMAL and BRIGHT, and 6 controls.

The FDR-1 can be used like a pre-amp, if your amplifier is solid state, and it will warm the sound, with the addition of two built-in effects. It can be also a perfect solution for direct recording. In this context the FDR-1 makes really a good job.

The FZ-5 provides three controls: Level, Fuzz and Mode. The Mode control allows the selection of the three Fuzz pedals emulated by the FZ-5. My opinion is that the sound produced from the FZ-5 is too much digital.

This pedal is difficult to use but it doesn't disappoint. The natural context of the MD-2 Mega Distortion is the Heavy Metal or the Hard Rock. The sound can be slightly tinny but it's valid. The price is good.

If you are looking for something that makes your sound powerful and with a great attack, the Boss ML-2 Metal Core is the pedal for you. This effect will create a great lows emphasis and a sharp attack. A good Boss pedal.

The Boss MT-2 Metal Zone delivers a perfect sound for Metal or Hard Rock, but not only. Thanks to a complete equalization section, tone can be shaped to get many different sounds.

If you play classic Rock or Blues, the OD-1 is the pedal for you. This Vintage Overdrive produces the typical sound of the '70s. You can forget the digital sound of the modern pedals. Only two controls: Level and Overdrive.

The successor of the OD-1. The OD-2 works well and can produce two different effects. A mild distortion similar to the OD-1 and a powerful distortion with a good Feedback. The OD-2 is more flexible of the OD-1.

The OD-3, a Boss Overdrive, is equipped with a new circuit, called Dual-Stage. Thanks to the new electronics the OD-3 produces an excellent Overdrive, with a great sustain, really long and a perfect compression.

Four controls: Level, Tone, Drive and Color. A good overall tone for this flexible Boss pedal. The Color knob adjusts the two effects: overdrive and distortion.

An important characteristic of the SD-1 is that it is very touch-sensitive and transparent, so it doesn't alter the tone of your guitar. It's difficult to find a so good Overdrive at a so low price.

The Sound control is the heart of the ST-2. This knob adjusts simultaneously the gain level and the sound character. In addition, the ST-2 Power Stack is equipped with a 2-band equalizer.

This Digitech Overdrive provides four controls: Level, Low, High and Gain. The sound of the Bad Monkey is a quality sound, warm and pleasant. The pedal is very quiet and with an excellent price.

Two modes, Classic and Modified, and four controls. The CM-2 Tube Overdrive can warm a clean sound, with its slight Crunch, or it can be used to add more Gain for a very valid Lead sound.

The TS9 Tube Screamer is a very famous Overdrive. Now Ibanez, with the TS9DX Turbo Tube Screamer, adds a new control, Mode, with four settings: Turbo, Hot, + and TS9. The sound quality is obviously the same.

If you are looking for a distortion pedal for your solid state amp, the Tube King 999HT is a great solution. This nice Ibanez pedal provides a true tube distortion, natural and warm.

An excellent distortion pedal. The Dark Matter sounds very well and turns out very flexible. This TC Electronic pedal features the classic distortion controls and a 2-position switch, called Voice, that can dramatically alter the sound.
